Community Outreach Programs
Meeting My Ancestors offers several community outreach programs which are available to communities, nations, and groups for hosting within their communities.

Babies (Awasisak)
Our Awasisak program offers several teachings and classes related to babies. This series includes,
- Cradleboards: Construct a cradleboard worthy of passing down for generations, learn how cradleboards are used, and why they are an important parenting tool.
- Swings: Learn about our traditions of swinging our babies, why and how this parenting tool is used, and how to build a swing for babies in your home.
- Moss Bags (waspisona): In this class we learn why we use moss bags, how babies are wrapped in them, and how to sew a moss bag.
- Lullabies: Singing to our babies is an important caring tradition that teaches language. Learn some lullabies to compliment the swing and moss bag teachings.
This is a multi day program which can be offered as separate programs or combined into a 1 week program (1 day moss bags, 1 day swings and songs, 2 days cradleboards). This series can accommodate up to 15 participants per program.
Star Blankets (Atahkakohp)
Our Star Blanket proram is an advanced sewing program that teaches the method of sewing beautiful star blankets. In this program we construct baby sized star blankets, however, the skills and patterns learned can be applied to any size quilt.
This is a 2 day program. This program can accommodate up to 10 participants.
Floral Studded Belt Making
This class will teach participants to create a studded belt, from creating the design, applying the studs, to sizing the belt.
This is a 1 day program. This program can accommodate up to 15 participants.
Traditional Indigenous Games
Explore traditional games designed to teach important skills to children and youth. In this program, we explore how to build the game pieces, how to play the games, and the skills taught by each game.
This is a 1 -2 day program (depending on the age range desired for game instruction). This program can accommodate up to 15 people.
Hide Tanning
This program offers instruction in traditional hide tanning, and walks through each step of tanning either dear hides (2 days) or moose hides (10 days).
This program is either 2 or 10 days long. This program can accommodate up to 15 people.
