Babies (Awasisak)

Our Awasisak program offers several teachings and classes related to babies. This series includes,

  • Cradleboards: Construct a cradleboard worthy of passing down for generations, learn how cradleboards are used, and why they are an important parenting tool.
  • Swings: Learn about our traditions of swinging our babies, why and how this parenting tool is used, and how to build a swing for babies in your home.
  • Moss Bags (waspisona): In this class we learn why we use moss bags, how babies are wrapped in them, and how to sew a moss bag.
  • Lullabies: Singing to our babies is an important caring tradition that teaches language. Learn some lullabies to compliment the swing and moss bag teachings.
