Please note, this pattern is not for commercial use, but rather is offered to support Indigenous people access resources. If you have access to an elder who can teach you your ways of making an octopus bag, that is always preferable and we highly recommend you approach them with protocol to ask for teachings.

“I have had several emails in the past few days. Rude emails. Entitled emails. Claiming I have misled them that the pattern isn’t free. It is absolutely 100% free. It will be sent by email. The first email that comes ISNT the pattern email. It is an email asking you to confirm your email address. This is required in Canada by law. After you confirm your email address, the pattern email will come. In the pattern email, you need to go to the bottom of the email and click the red download button. There is ALSO a button to our Octopus Bag making class in case you decide you want help. However, there is no expectation that you join ANY of our classes. These resources are my gift to the community.
Managing Meeting My Ancestors is a one woman show. There are no supports I have in creating these resources, managing the website, of getting these resources out to you. Despite this, and not being paid by anyone to offer these free resources to the community, I do these things to help my community and my nation. If I have to deal with rude, entitled or belligerent people…I will not have the energy necessary to continue offering these things.
