Materials

- Binding (Twill tape, wool melton, or cotton broadcloth to make binding tape with)
This program teaches the process of pattern drafting. Meaning, each participant makes a coat using body measurements, not a paper pattern. Traditional coat making was not done with a pattern, but based on measurements. That is what we learn in addition to the sewing and assembling process of the jackets.
We do not make craft style, blanket stitch capotes. We create tailored coats in the traditional way. If a participant wishes to make the craft style blanket stitch coat, they may, however, that isn’t the intention of this program. We create high quality wool blanket coats.
